Objective
Our goal was to establish Rent Instead as a leading rental marketplace in Manhattan. We aimed to simplify the renting process for users by offering a platform where they could easily rent items instead of purchasing them. Our main focus was on user convenience, efficient transaction processing, and providing a comprehensive solution for both renters and lenders.
What We've Done
We developed Rent Instead using optimal tools for a rental service - React, Node/Express, and Shopify. We utilized Shopify for a streamlined storefront while customizing backend functionalities with Node/Express to manage rentals effectively. From listing items for rent to handling rental agreements, we ensured a seamless operation.
Creative Process
We initiated our design phase by understanding the needs of urban renters and item owners. Using Figma, we crafted a user-friendly and appealing interface, inspired by leading rental services. We continuously refined our designs based on user feedback to enhance the ease of use and engagement on the platform.
